ST. PETERSBURG -- The No. 37 ranked Eckerd women's tennis team picked up its fifth straight win on Wednesday, defeating the Edinboro Fighting Scots by a score of 7-0.
The Tritons needed just one win in doubles to clinch a point as the duo of

Laura Ullrich won by default at the No. 3 spot. Eckerd claimed the two matches played, beginning with
Olivia Lindestaf and
Catherine Cole earning a 6-1 win at No. 1.
Valentina Sanchez Bronzetti and
Maialen Idiakez were victorious at No. 2 with a 6-2 final score. The Tritons took a 1-0 lead into singles.
All five matches played in singles were decided by the Tritons in straight sets. Idiakez was the first to finish at No. 3 with a 6-1, 6-1 decision over her counterpart, followed by Sanchez Bronzetti's 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2. Lindestaf secured the match-clinching point for Eckerd with a quick 6-0, 6-1 victory at the No. 1 position, with Cole following with a win by retirement after notching the first set 6-3.
