ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd Athletics department bids farewell to Associate Director of Athletics, Internal Operations and Compliance/Senior Woman Administrator Becky Clark, who was named the Deputy Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator at the University of New Haven in Connecticut.
"Becky has been an incredible leader and advocate for our student-athletes. Her impact on Eckerd Athletics — from compliance and academic support to launching innovative programs like Triton Together Mentoring Program — will be felt for years to come," stated Director of Athletics Tom Ryan '87. "We're excited for her next chapter and grateful for all she brought to our community."
Clark has been a part of the Triton administration since 2019 and has served as SWA since 2021. She served as the department's lead for NCAA compliance, academic support, business operations, and budgeting. Clark also plays a key role on the athletics senior leadership team.
As SWA, Clark spearheaded many new initiatives focused on student-athlete well-being, development, leadership, and equity. Most notably, she created the Triton Together Peer Mentoring Program, launching in 2024-25, aimed at improving student-athlete retention and leadership development.
"I am truly grateful for the opportunities and support I have received at Eckerd College, especially within athletics under the exceptional leadership of Tom Ryan," stated Clark. "I believe God places certain people in our lives at the right time, and there is no doubt that Tom and Kristy Ryan were placed in my path for a reason. I am forever thankful for their guidance, kindness, and unwavering support."
She also served as the staff advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), leading many impactful initiatives, including alumni networking events, and numerous community engagement pieces.
Clark completed the NCAA's 2024-25 Pathway Program. She is also a graduate of the NCAA Leadership Academy Workshop (LAW) and the NCAA/D2 ADA Women and Minorities Mentoring Program. In May 2025, she was recognized with the NCAA Division II Emerging Leader Award.
