Fear Named to GCAA All-Freshman Team

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - After an impressive rookie campaign, Reggie Fear has been selected to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) All-Freshman Team.

Fear, from Surrey, England, is the first Triton in program history named to the GCAA All-Freshman Team. He was also tabbed to the All-SSC Second Team earlier this month. He was the first player since 2013 to receive all-conference honors. He was tabbed the SSC Golfer of the Week in September.

He became the first individual from Eckerd since 2011 selected to the NCAA South/Southeast Regional, where he finished tied for 11th, just two strokes off qualifying for the national championship.

Fear ranks 78th nationally and 21st in the region. He has a 72.2 adjusted scoring average according to Clippd, with two top-three finishes and five top-20 finishes.

He won his collegiate debut at the Griffin Invitational on September 16-17 with an 8-under 208. He added a runner-up finish at the SSC Championship on April 13-15, marking the best placing by a Triton since 2013.

He led Eckerd to a final round 286 in the SSC Championship, the lowest single round at the SSC Championship in program history for the Tritons.

Fear is one of five freshamn across Division II to be named to the all-freshman team.
