ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's tennis team fell to No. 19 Florida Southern, 6-1 on Saturday in their final home match of the season at the Fred Bullard Courts.
Eckerd (9-7, 0-6) fell to Florida Southern (13-5, 3-3) after being swept in the doubles point and five of six singles matches.
Adrian Gheorghe picked up the lone Triton victory in the No. 5 spot in a three-set battle. Gheorge took set one 7-5 and dropped set two in tiebreak. He clinched the victory with a 10-8 set-three victory for Eckerd's only point.
Lukas Palla sent his match to three sets in the No. 6 spot after rallying back for a second set victory, but fell 10-6 in set three.
Eckerd men's tennis plays its final match of the regular season on the road at Embry-Riddle on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
