ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team fell in its final home match of the season to No. 33 Florida Southern, 6-1 at the Bullard Courts on Thursday afternoon.
The Tritons (8-8) fell to No. 33 Florida Southern (12-3) as the Moccasins swept the doubles point and took five of six singles matches to clinch the win.
Maya Soligo picked up the lone Triton victory in her last match at the Fred Bullard Courts, knocking off Florida Southern's Jolie Miller 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 5 spot.
The top matchup of the Olivia's was a battle, as No. 31 Olivia Lindestaf was shutout in set one by No. 33 Olivia Bryant, but bounced back to force a thrid set with a 6-2 set-two victory. Lindestaf ultimately fell in the final set 6-1.
Eckerd travels back to Nova Southeastern Sunday to restart their match that was postponed due to weather at 2:00 PM.
