SAINT LEO, Fla. - Despite an early 2-0 lead, the Eckerd baseball team fell in its final midweek match up of the season, 13-2, in seven innings on Tuesday evening at Saint Leo.
Eckerd jumped out to an early lead, plating single runs in the first and second innings, highlighted by Zade Stark scoring on a double by Christian Cabina in the top of the first. Kam Gelwick continued the scoring in the second on a sacrifice fly from Cole Schumaker. The Lions responded with a nine-run third inning, including a three-run homer by Mass, and never looked back.
