MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team dropped the opener 4-1 before rallying to take the finale 12-1 in six innings at Florida Tech on Saturday afternoon. In the finale,
Lex Difato set the single-season record for runs, while
Hannah Taylor set the single-season mark for hits. The win also marked the most SSC wins in program history.Â
The opener was a pitcher's duel through four innings with a combined two hits by both teams before the Panthers broke through in the fifth with a two-run double and two-run home run for a 4-0 favor. Gracie Ciccarello broke the Panthers' no-hit bid with a single to lead off the sixth. Mia Hernandez got the Tritons on the board in the seventh with an RBI single, but EC was unable to make up the difference.Â
The Tritons broke through early in the finale with four runs in the second frame on a pair of two-run singles from Molly Scott and Hannah Taylor. The Panthers got a run back in the bottom of the frame. However, Eckerd continued to tack on runs with one in the third, three in the fourth, and four in the sixth. Taylor had two RBIs in the fourth and one in the sixth, while Ella Coiner, Addisan Langston, and Ashley Cain also added RBIs in the sixth for the run-rule win.Â

- The win marked the most SSC wins in a season in program history, surpassing 11 wins from 2018, 2016, and 1987.Â
- Brandilyn Reyemer posted 10 strikeouts in the opener, moving her season total to 150, which ties the single-season program record. She has had 10 or more strikeouts in six games this season.Â
- Lex Difato scored two runs in the finale, moving her season total to 48. The first run set the single-season runs record.Â
- With Taylor's first hit of the day in the second inning of game two, she moved her season total to 66 hits, setting the single-season hits record. She also reached the 100 career hits mark at the same time.Â
- Taylor added five RBIs in game two, moving her career total to 75.Â
- Julia Heter earned the win in the finale, marking her 11th win of the season. She allowed just three hits and one run.  Â
- Taylor had three hits in the finale, while Difato and Langston had two each.Â
