CLERMONT, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team traveled to Clermont, Florida, for a pair of neutral site contests at the Spring Game, taking the opener over Wayne State (Neb.) before falling to Southwest Minnesota State in game two on Sunday afternoon, both by scores of 4-3.
Eckerd scored first against WSC with a run in the third as Lex Difato stole home. However, the Wildcats equalized in the bottom of the frame. The Tritons responded with three runs in the fifth with RBIs from Hannah Taylor and Ella Coiner, followed by a run scoring on an error. WSC added two runs in the bottom of the frame, but Eckerd kept them from rallying any further to seal the win.
Both teams scored a run in the opening frame as Difato scored on a sacrifice bunt. EC and SWMS each added two runs in the third as well to stay tied at 3-3, as Taylor and Coiner added RBIs in the frame. However, the Mustangs added the deciding run in the sixth off an error.

NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Difato and Taylor added two hits each in game one, while Difato added two in the finale as well.
- Coiner posted three RBIs on the day, while Taylor had two.
- Difato added three stolen bases over both games.
- Brandily Reymer posted eight strikeouts to earn her seventh win of the season. She reached the 150 career strikeout milestone in the game.
