ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team rallied to win game two by a score of 5-2 after dropping the opener, 8-6, to West Liberty (WV) at the Turley Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.
The Hilltoppers started the game with five runs in the opening frame. Eckerd added a run in the bottom of the frame on a Hannah Taylor RBI single, and EC plated a run in the third to trail 5-2.
West Liberty plated two insurance runs in the fifth and a run in the seventh, which ended up being the difference in the game. The Tritons rallied in the final two innings with two runs in the sixth on a Kinsley Castro single and Taylor bases-loaded walk. With two outs in the final frame, Ashley Cain delivered a double to plate two runs, but the rally was stopped there.
The Tritons added a run in the first inning of the finale as Taylor scored as part of an attempted double steal. Addisan Langston and Julia Heter added an RBI each in the third for a 3-0 favor. WLU plated two runs in the fourth, but Eckerd matched them in the bottom of the frame on an error and a Taylor RBI.

- Taylor, Lex Difato, and Mia Hernandez added two hits each in game two.
- Difato added three stolen bases on the day. She has 22 on the season, ranking tied for sixth in single-season records.
