MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The No. 43 Eckerd men's tennis team fell to the No. 2 Barry Buccaneers, 4-0 Saturday afternoon.
No. 43 Eckerd (9-5, 0-4) dropped the doubles point in a split decision to the No. 2 Buccaneers (11-2, 2-0), while Barry took three singles matches to clinch 4-0.Â
Eckerd won one doubles match with Marshall Hulett and Adrian Gheorghe upsetting the No. 27 ranked Gabriele Felline and Tim Riedel with a 7-5 victory in the No. 2 doubles.
Barry clinched the match with three singles victories in the No. 2, 3, and 4 singles. No. 75 Batu Ataseven battled in the top singles spot with No. 26 Yan Kodjoed, falling 7-6 in set one, before the match went unfinished in set two.Â
Eckerd men's tennis continues conference play on Wednesday in Winter Park, Fla., against Rollins College at 3:00 PM.
