ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team fell to No. 25 Rollins, 6-1 at the Bullard Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tritons (8-6) fell to No. 25 Rollins (9-6) as the Tars swept the doubles point and took five of six singles matches.
Olivia Lindestaf picked up the Tritons' lone win on the day, in a three-set thriller, knocking off the No. 7 nationally-ranked Nancy Liu in the top singles spot for the Tars. Lindestaf fell behind in set one 6-1 and was faced with two match points in set two, battling back from a 5-2 deficit to take the set, 7-6 (7-3). She took set three 10-8 to take the match.
Maialen Idiakez nearly forced a third set in the No. 4 spot, but fell 6-3, 7-6 (7-5).
Eckerd travels down to Miami Shores, Fla. to face No. 3 Barry on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
