MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - A five-run seventh inning, highlighted by a three-run homer by Hannah Taylor, led the Eckerd softball team to an upset win over No. 24 Barry, 6-1, in the series finale on Sunday afternoon.
The Bucs got on the board first, with an RBI triple in the fourth. However, Eckerd equalized the score in the following frame with a run scoring on an error.
Gracie Ciccarello and Lex Difato led off the seventh with singles, and Taylor cleared the bases with a three-run shot down the left-field line. The Tritons added two insurance runs for a 6-1 favor on an Abby Lucas RBI double and a sacrifice fly from Molly Scott. Bradilyn Reymer added a 1-2-3 inning to end the game.
