ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team jumped ahead early and never looked back with a dominant 9-2 win over Palm Beach Atlantic Friday evening at the Turley Athletic Complex.
Eckerd took the lead early with an RBI single by Ella Coiner in the first frame for a 1-0 tilt. The Tritons plated five runs in the third inning on two bases-loaded walks, an error, and a two-run single from Lex Difato.
A bases-loaded walk by Mia Hernandez in the fourth gave Eckerd a 7-0 favor. The Sailfish added a pair of runs in the next frame, but the Tritons responded with a pair of RBI singles from Addisan Lagston and Coiner for a 9-2 advantage to seal the win.
