ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team picked up their last non-conference win over Franklin Pierce (N.H.) , 6-1 at the Bullard Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tritons (8-5) defeated Franklin Pierce (5-6) after taking the doubles point and five of six singles matches.
Eckerd's top pairing of Olivia Lindestaf and Fiona Orza shut out Franklin Pierce's top pair 6-0 to start the day. Kylie Misdorp and Maya Soligo clinched the doubles point for the Tritons in the No. 2 pairing, 6-1.
Lindestaf continued the shutout streak, with a pair of 6-0 victories in the top singles spot, before Misdorp only dropped one game (6-1, 6-0) in the No. 2 spot. Orza clinched the match for Eckerd in the No. 3 position, taking her match in two sets, 6-4, 6-3.
Maialen Idiakez and Laura Ullrich won their matches in the No. 5 and 6 spots respectively, with Ullrich blanking her opponent 6-0 in straight sets.
Eckerd finishes out the season with the remainder of their conference play, hosting Rollins on March 26, at 3:00 PM at the Fred Bullard Courts.
