Tritons Take Two at Space Coast Games

Viera, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team erupted for 19 runs across two games at the Space Coast Games on Tuesday afternoon, taking the opener over Saint Anselm (NH), 3-0, and Post (Conn.) 16-2 in five innings.

After a quiet start to the game, Eckerd capitalized on some Hawks miscues for a pair of runs in the fourth on a bases-loaded walk and hit-by-pitch. EC added another run in the fifth for a 3-0 favor on another bases-loaded walk. Meanwhile, Julia Heter kept the SAU bats at bay, surrendering just two hits.

In the finale, the Tritons' bats exploded early with seven runs in the first inning, highlighted by an Ella Coiner RBI triple. Eckerd added four runs in the second and third as well for a 15-2 tilt. A Molly Scott RBI double in the fifth gave the Tritons a 16-2 favor for the run-rule win.
