ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team swept the University of Mary (N.D.) on Saturday afternoon.
The Tritons (3-2) swept the University of Mary (1-5) after sweeping the doubles point and all six singles matches.
The Tritons opened the day taking all six singles matches. Kylie Misdorp and Fiona Orza in the top spot, and Catherine Cole and Olivia Lindestaf in the No. 2 pairing each took their matches 6-2. Maialen Idiakez and Laura Ullrich completed the doubles sweep with a 6-3 victory in the No. 3 position.
Lindestaf continues to dominate in the top singles spot, only dropping one set for a 6-1, 6-2 victory. Cole made quick work of her opponent in the No. 5 spot, taking her match 6-0 in straight sets. Misdorp clinched the match for the Tritons in the No. 2 spot with a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Orza, Idiakez, and Ullrich all took their matches to complete the 7-0 sweep over the Marauders.
The Tritons remain at home to face Walsh University (Ohio) on Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the Bullard Courts.
