WINTER PARK, Fla. - A Tars' second-half run was the difference as the Eckerd men's basketball team dropped its SSC road contest at Rollins, 88-75 on Wednesday evening.
The Tars took an initial 12-6 favor to start the game, but Eckerd answered with six straight points to even the score. Rollins pushed in front by six again, but the Tritons responded to even the score at 23-23. RC once again pushed its lead back out, this time to nine at the final media timeout before taking a 41-35 advantage at the break.
The Tars stayed in front to start the second half, but Eckerd used a 10-3 run to even the score at 57-57 with 11:55 left. The teams swapped baskets over the next four minutes until the Tars used a 14-2 run to take a double-digit lead. The Tritons cut their deficit to seven but were unable to make us the difference, falling 88-75.

NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Isiah Placide led Eckerd with 22 points. He also added six rebounds.
- Wyatt Triestmann and Timothy Thompson rounded out the double-figure scorers with 19 and 15 points, respectively.
- Thompson added his third consecutive double-double with 11 boards.
- Kent Garard reached the 500 career rebound mark in the contest.
- Eckerd had a season-low four turnovers.
