ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Freija Aflenzer and Olivia Ozbolt each scored their first career goal to lead the Eckerd women's soccer team to a dominant victory over Christian Brothers (Tenn.), 4-0 at Johnson Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Tritons dominated from the start, scoring their first goal just over six minutes into the match. Freija Aflenzer opened the scoring with an assist from Kendall Drummond, followed by a goal from Olivia Ozbolt only three minutes later. Eckerd's aggressive offense took control of the game, registering 11 shots in the first half and keeping Christian Brothers on the defensive side, as goalkeeper Gemma Crowe was forced to make four saves.
In the second half, the Tritons continued their commanding display, with Jillian Doerger and Drummond both adding goals to seal the win. Doerger scored in the 65th minute, assisted by Aflenzer, and Drummond found the net in the 80th minute with a pass from Sierra Hudson. Defensively, Eckerd goalkeeper Cadence Talbert held strong, making two key saves to preserve the shutout to pick up her first win of the season.
