Eckerd Falls to Top-Seeded Nova Southeastern

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - In their first Sunshine State Conference tournament appearance since 2019, the Eckerd men's basketball team fell to the Nova Southeastern Sharks 92-72 at the Rick Case Arena in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Tuesday night.

The Tritons quickly found themselves in a four-point hole, before Carr Thiam and Timothy Thompson brought Eckerd back to tie. The Sharks soon worked their way up to a double-digit favor, leading 17-6 at the 13:55 mark. After trailing by 18 at the halfway point of the period, the Tritons chipped away at the Sharks lead, sinking seven free throws down the stretch to narrow the deficit back to 10. Nova Southeastern put the pressure back on, taking a 48-26 favor into the half.
