ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's tennis team took a 7-0 victory over St. Scholastica (Minn.) at the Bullard Courts on Wednesday.
Eckerd (6-6) won the top two doubles slots and won all singles positions in straight sets.
In the top flight,
Batu Ataseven and
Christian Kearns and
Marshall Hulett and
Eric Asakura in the No. 2 slot won both their doubles by a 6-1 scores.
The Tritons won singles in straight sets. Ataseven (6-0, 6-1) in the top slot and Hullett (6-1, 6-0) in the No. 3 position made quick work in their wins.
Asakura in the No. 4 spot and
Phil Grueninger in the No. 5 both won, 6-1, 6-2.
Kearns in the No. 2 slot won 6-0, 6-3, while Colbin Campbel took a tight opening set, 7-5, before winning easily 6-1 in the No. 6 position.
Eckerd is back in action on Saturday, hosting Barry at 2:00 PM.
