ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team celebrated seniors Ericka Chavarria and Julia Triska before defeating West Chester (Penn.) 6-1 at the Fred Bullard Courts on Sunday afternoon.
The Tritons (6-5) defeated the Rams (0-3) after taking the doubles point and five of the six singles matches.
Eckerd started the day winning the doubles point. Olivia Lindestaf and Maialen Idiakez made quick work of their opponents, taking the No. 3 position 6-1. Kylie Misdorp and Maya Soligo followed suit with a 6-2 victory in the No. 2 spot.
Lindestaf dominated in the No. 2 spot, only dropping one set, taking her match 6-1, 6-0.
Idiakez cruised in the No. 5 position, taking her match 6-1, 6-2.
Eckerd hits the road to Lakeland, Florida for a neutral site match against Bentley (Mass.) at 3:00 PM on Tuesday.
