BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Eckerd men's tennis team opened up conference play with a 7-0 loss to the No. 20 Lynn Fighting Knights at the Perper Tennis Complex.
The Tritons (2-1) fell to the Fighting Knights (4-1) after dropping the doubles point and all six singles matches.Â
Eckerd's second pairing of Mario Kirkov and Marshall Hulett nearly upset Olive-Blanco, falling in a close match 7-5. Batu Ataseven and Christian Kearns put up four points in the top spot, but it was not enough, as they fell 6-4 to Garayev and Alumoussa.Â
Eckerd did not win a set in singles play. Eric Asakura came closest, falling 6-4 in set one and 6-2 in set two in the No. 4 position.Â
Eckerd hosts a non-conference matchup against the University of Findlay on Tuesday at 3:00 PM at the Fred Bullard Courts.Â
