MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - A pair of early Buccaneer runs in both halves was the difference as the Eckerd men's basketball team dropped an SSC road contest at Barry, 80-66, on Wednesday night.
After swapping leads early in the game, Barry went on a 9-0 run to take a 10-point favor. The Bucs maintained a six to 12-point advantage until the two-minute mark, where the Bucs capped an 11-2 stretch to take a 15-point lead. Eckerd ended the half with eight straight points to cut its deficit to 40-33 at the break.
BU went on a 9-0 run over the opening five minutes of the second half to take a 16-point advantage. Eckerd cut its deficit to 10 on a George Kimble layup at the 7:21 mark and again on a Kent Garard triple with 5:21 left. However, the Tritons were unable to pull any closer, falling 80-66.

- Carr Thiam led Eckerd with 26 points, while George Kimble rounded out the double-figure scorers with 16.
