ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd baseball team completed the series sweep over the Georgia College Bobcats in a dominant 12-5 victory at the Turley Athletic Complex on Sunday afternoon.
Eckerd put up four runs in the first for an early 4-0 lead as Jake Fajardo picked up two RBIs with a single to left field. The Bobcats retaliated with two runs in the second and third to narrow EC's margin to two. Cam Collier hit a solo homerun to right field to increase Eckerd's favor to 5-2 in the fifth. Joe Wike followed with a homerun in the sixth before Eckerd scored on a wild pitch to lead 7-2. The Bobcats added another run in the seventh on an RBI single to center field.
Eckerd added five more runs over the next two innings, scoring off of an error and a wild pitch. Reid Lisle hit his first homerun of the season in the eighth. The Tritons went into the final inning with a comfortable 12-3 lead. The Bobcats added two runs in the inning before Eckerd closed the game 12-5.
