ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's basketball team took control of the game from the start and eclipsed the century mark in a 101-60 victory over Puerto Rico Mayaguez on Tuesday night at St. Pete College.
Eckerd jumped out to a 7-0 start and never looked back. The Tritons pushed out to a double-digit lead five minutes into the game and maintained a comfortable lead the rest of the half. They capped the stanza on a 19-4 run to take a 56-29 favor at intermission.
An early 7-0 run gave Eckerd a 30-point advantage in the second half. EC maintained a sizable lead the rest of the way, pushing their favor to 40 points with 6:55 remaining before cruising the rest of the way.

- Kent Garard led Eckerd with 23 points, while Isaiah Placide (16), James LaFrance (11), Mekhi Perry (11), and Dante Bouchard (10) added double figures.
