TAMPA, Fla. - The Eckerd men's soccer team dropped a road conference contest at Tampa on Wednesday night, 2-0.
Tampa got on the board quickly with a goal in the sixth minute. The Spartans doubled their lead in the 36th minute to take a 2-0 lead at intermission.
The Spartans pressed inside the first 20 minutes of the second half with five shots. However, Eckerd kept them off the board. EC gained momentum late as Tommy Shepherd registered a low shot on frame, but it was turned back in the 86th minute. Finn Steele added a shot a minute later, but the Tritons were unable to convert.
