MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team returned to action on Friday night after a two-week break due to the impacts of Hurricane Milton, as the Tritons fell 3-1 at Florida Tech.
The teams traded points throughout the match, with Eckerd trailing 23-22 late before the Panthers took the set on two consecutive points. Eckerd used a 13-2 run midway through the second stanza to take a sizable lead and the frame. The teams again traded rallies in the third frame before Florida Tech capped the set on a 5-1 run. EC took an 18-12 lead in the fourth frame, but the Panthers used an 8-1 run to take the lead. The teams swapped points the rest of the way before FT took the set on back-to-back points.
