WINTER PARK, Fla. - After a pair of first-half goals by Rollins, the Eckerd men's soccer team evened the score early in the second half off a brace from Sam Musungaie over a two-minute stretch. However, the Tars rallied with four goals to top the Tritons 6-2 on Wednesday afternoon at Barker Family Stadium.
Rollins scored early with a goal in the first five minutes. They added to their lead with another goal in the 39th minute for a 2-0 favor at the break.
Eckerd came out of the second half strong as Luciano Rodrigez made a turn about 30 yards out and slid a pass to Musungaie on the left, who beat his defender to get Eckerd on the board in the 49th minute. Rodriguez and Musungaie connected again two minutes later on the right side of the field as Musungaie broke past his defender and buried one in the top of the net to equalize.
The Tars took the lead back in the 57th minute and added another goal in the 58th minute to secure their lead. They added another two insurance goals in the 62nd and 84th minutes.
