ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's basketball team used a pair of large runs in both halves in a 92-76 victory over Rollins on Saturday afternoon at the McArthur Center.
After swapping baskets early, the Tars pushed out to a five-point lead inside the first media timeout. EC went on a 13-2 run to take a 25-17 favor at the 7:15 marl. Rollins pulled within one, but the Tritons went on a seven-point run over the final minute to take a 40-32 advantage at intermission.
EC went on a 13-0 run early in the second frame to take a 19-point lead at the 14:17 mark. Eckerd's lead fluctuated between 14 and 18 points over the next five minutes before three straight triples by Will Willard gave the Tritons a 23-point favor. Eckerd cruised the rest of the way to a 92-76 win.

NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Five Tritons posted double figures: Will Willard (18), Carr Thiam (18), Kent Garard (17), George Kimble (15), and Timothy Thompson (14).
- Willard's 18 points set a career-high.
- Thompson added a double-double with a career-high 15 rebounds to go along with his 14 points. Thompson's 15 boards are the most by a Triton since Travis Bianco had 16 on December 4, 2019.
- Garard nearly added a double-double as well with nine rebounds.
- Isaiah Placide posted a career-high nine boards.
- Eckerd held a 55-29 favor on the boards. The most rebounds in a game since Eckerd had 63 against PR Rio Piedras on November 21, 2008.
