ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team fell 7-0 to the Cavaliers of Walsh University (Ohio) at the Bullard Courts on Wednesday afternoon.
The Cavaliers (6-5, 0-0 GMAC) beat the Tritons (2-6, 0-3 SSC) after earning the doubles point and taking three of six singles matches.Â
The Tritons fell in all three draws of doubles play. Kylie Misdorp and Maya Soligo collected four games against the No. 1 pairing of Carla Padberg and Alex Gamborino.
Raia Jagger was the only Triton to take a set win on the day, as she took Carla Padberg in the first set 6-4 before falling in three 6-3, 10-5. Misdorp also came close in both sets, winning eight games but falling 6-4, 6-4.Â
The Tritons are back on Saturday at the Bullard Courts for a conference matchup and Senior Day against Rollins, with first serves at 12:00 PM.Â
