ORLANDO, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team edged the University of Mary (ND), 4-3, at the USTA National Campus Tennis Center in Orlando Saturday afternoon as
Kylie Misdorp clinched the match in No. 1 singles.
Eckerd (2-4) fell behind early, dropping doubles action to UMary (4-2) before winning four of six singles matches for the victory.
Misdorp won the match for the Tritons in the No. 1 spot. She dropped the first set 6-4 but rallied for a 6-4 and 10-2 victory in the second and third sets.
Lili Reichert made quick work of Samantha Purpura in the No. 6 singles slot, 6-1, 6-0.
Ericka Chavarria, 6-3, 6-1, and
Alexis Kwasnik, 6-3, 6-4, added straight sets victories in the No. 3 and No. 5 singles positions.
Eckerd returns to action on Tuesday, hosting Catawba (NC) AT 3:00 PM.
