ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team capped a 13-game homestand with a doubleheader sweep on West Georgia by scores of 13-5 and 4-1 at the Turley Athletic Complex on Tuesday. Eckerd's offense erupted for seven runs in the second inning of game one before tacking on another eight in the following four innings for the win, while a three-run fifth sealed the win in the finale.
West Georgia added two runs in the first inning, but the Tritons responded by taking the lead in the second with seven runs. Skylar Redish added a solo homerun in the frame while Brenna Lokeinsky, Ella Coiner, Lauren Margolis, and Jadyn Wright added RBIs in the inning for a 7-2 Tritons favor.
UWG added a run in the third, but Eckerd responded with a run in the third and fourth innings.
The Wolves cut into their deficit in the fifth with a pair of runs, with EC leading 9-5. However, the Tritons plated four runs in the sixth on a Hannah Gordon RBI triple, Lokeinsky two-run double, and a run scoring on a wild pitch for the run-rule victory.
UWG struck first again in game two with an infield RBI single in the second. However, Brooklyn Cardona followed with an infield RBI single in the bottom of the frame.
The Tritons finally broke the stalemate in the fifth as Jenice Casanas scored on a wild pitch to take the lead before Redish added a two-run double for a 4-1 favor.

- Margolis drew a walk in the second game to move her season total to 30, which ties the single-season program record she set last season. She moves her career total to 75, ranking second in program history.
- The Tritons have amassed 78 stolen bases on the season, the most since 2016, when the Tritons also had 78.
- Lokeinsky and Coiner led Eckerd in the opener with three and two RBIs, respectively. Redish collected two RBIs in the finale.
- Megan Diaz posted three hits in the opener.
- Redish's homerun was her fourth of the season and the 17th of her career, ranking tied for fifth in program history.
