ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - After Palm Beach Atlantic rallied to tie the game in the sixth, the Eckerd softball team used a three-run sixth to seal the series sweep, 8-5, at the Turley Athletic Complex on Saturday.
Eckerd scored in the opening frame as Skylar Redish plated a run with an RBI single. Brenna Lokeinsky gave EC a 2-0 lead with a solo homerun in the third.
The Sailfish evened the score in the fourth on an RBI single and a sacrifice fly. However, the Tritons pushed in front by three in the bottom of the frame on a pair of RBI singles by Jenice Casanas and Ella Coiner before Lauren Margolis plated the third run on a sacrifice fly.
PBA added a run in the fifth and tied the game in the sixth on Bella O'Connor's two-run homerun.
EC rallied once again, taking an 8-5 lead in the sixth. The Tritons loaded the bases, where Margolis drew a walk for the first run. Redish added two insurance runs with a two-run double.
