LAKELAND, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team fell behind early in both games on Saturday but rallied late for runs in the final frame each game. However, Eckerd ultimately dropped both games by scores of 6-4 and 5-4 at Florida Southern's Chris Bellotto Field.
FSC got on the board first in the opener with a pair of runs in the second frame on an RBI single and a wild pitch.
The Mocs added four runs in the fifth on a two-run single and three RBI singles for a 6-0 lead.
The Tritons rallied late with three runs in the sixth on an Ella Coiner RBI single followed by Megan Diaz's two-run double. EC continued to rally in the seventh with another run on Jadyn Wright's RBI single. The Tritons had the tying run aboard but were unable to push another run across.
The Mocs scored early again in the second game with a run in the first inning. Eckerd evened the score in the following frame on a Brooklyn Cardona RBI single.
FSC took a 3-1 lead in the third with a sacrifice fly and an RBI single. They added another run in the fourth and sixth innings.
Eckerd rallied in the seventh for three runs via an inside-the-park homerun by Diaz. EC then put the tying run aboard on Cardona's single but was unable to push her across.

- Margolis added a walk in each game to move her season total to 18, which leads the conference.
- Diaz hit her first career homerun in the finale.
