Eckerd Drops SSC Contest at Embry-Riddle

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Eckerd men's tennis team fell 7-0 in a road contest at Embry-Riddle on Saturday afternoon.

Embry-Riddle (1-6; 1-2 SSC) took the doubles point before taking all six singles matches over the Tritons (0-3, 0-2 SSC). 

Batu Ataseven and Esteve Augusti cruised in the No. 1 doubles slot, 6-1. Eric Asakura and Sam Walker battled in the No. 2 draw, taking four points but fell, 6-4, as the Eagles also won the No. 3 draw. 

Jon William Karlstad battled in the No. 5 singles slot taking eight games, but fell 7-6, 6-2. Batu Ataseven dropped the opening set, 6-1, in No. 2 singles but rallied to take the second 6-3. However, he dropped the third, 6-2. 

Esteve Augusti took seven games in the No. 1 draw but dropped them, 6-3, 6-4. 

Eckerd returns to action on Wednesday at 3:00 PM at Rollins.
