Eckerd Falls at Saint Leo

SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Eckerd men's basketball team dropped its final contest of the season, 87-53, at Saint Leo's Marion Bowman Activities Center Saturday evening. 

Saint Leo started the game with 11 straight points before a pair of Carr Thiam free throws got EC on the board. An 8-2 run pulled EC within two at the midway point of the half. However, the Lions closed the half on a 13-2 stretch to take a 39-23 favor at intermission. 

The teams traded baskets early in the second half before SLU used a 15-3 run to take a 65-35 advantage. The Lions cruised the rest of the way.

NOTES AND NUMBERS

• Mekhi Perry led Eckerd with 13 points off the bench, while Jordan Kwiecinski also added double figures with 10 points. 
• Kwiecinski nearly added a double-double with a team-leading nine rebounds.
• Eckerd shot 36.1 percent from the field. 
• The game marked the ends of the careers of Eckerd's five seniors: Dante Love, Daniel Love, Marcus Marrufo, Joshua Galloway, and David Swedura.
