ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team fell in its first home conference contest against No. 24 Florida Southern 6-1 at the Bullard Courts on Friday afternoon.
The No. 24 Moccasins (3-2, 2-2 SSC) beat the Tritons (1-2, 0-2 SSC) after earning the doubles point and winning five of six singles matches.
The Eckerd women's tennis team dropped the double's point early, as the Tritons fell in all three draws 6-3.
Kylie Misdorp picked up the lone point on the day for the Tritons. She downed Maxima Ellenberg in two straight sets 6-2, 6-4.
Ericka Chavarria won two games in the No. 1 draw, ultimately falling to Laia Pasini 6-1,6-1. Alexis Kwasnick also won two games in the No. 4 slot, falling to Vivien Charvatova 6-1, 6-1.
The Tritons travel to Daytona to face off against Embry-Riddle tomorrow at 2:00 PM.
