ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.. - The Eckerd softball team produced 20 hits and 24 runs to complete back-to-back run-rule wins against Western University (Ontario, Canada) by scores of 13-3 and 11-0, respectively, at the Turley Athletic Complex on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tritons started the first game hot with a 1-2-3 inning as Olivia Johnson struck out Abby TenPas swinging to flip the inning. Ella Coiner doubled to left field in the opening frame for two RBIs, bringing home Skylar Redish and Lauren Margolis. Megan Diaz reached on an error as Ella Coiner scored for a 3-0 lead.
The Tritons continued their momentum in the second inning with their first of two five-run innings. Brenna Lokeinsky, Reddish, Coiner, Diaz, and Addisan Langston each had an RBI in the frame as EC took an 8-0 favor. The Mustangs put their first runs on the board in the fourth for their only three runs of the day. Greco hit the scoreboard for a two-run homer.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Tritons extended the lead with another four runs. Langston had her second RBI of the game, and Jenice Casanas, Sara Soterakis, and Riley Trexler each had one RBI. Avery Beauchaine closed for the Tritons as she pitched a no-hit inning, striking out her first batter of the day.
Beauchaine continued the pitching momentum into the finale, striking out another batter and only allowing two hits through three innings of work. The Tritons put three runs on the board early, as Diaz had a two-run double to left field. A dominant victory ensued as Lokeinsky hit a sacrifice fly into right field to bring the score to 4-0 in the second. EC added three runs in the third and four in the fourth as Jadyn Wright stole home to give the Tritons a double-digit lead. In the finale, Diaz tallied three RBIs; Coiner followed with two, and Lokeinsky, Langston, Hannah Gordon, and Kinsley Castro each had one a piece.

- In game two, Brielle Benefield came in to close, allowing no hits and fanning two to face only six batters through two innings.
- Diaz totaled three RBIs in the finale and five in the doubleheader. Coiner tallied three RBIs in the opener and two in the finale, for five RBIs on the day.
- Coiner went 3-for-3 on the day.
