ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team picked up their first win of the season in its home opener over Warner (Fla.), 6-1, at the Bullard Courts on Monday afternoon.
The Tritons started the day off strong with a doubles victory, with all three pairs defeating the duos from Warner.
In the No. 1 singles spot, Kylie Misdorp defeated Camilia Matos in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Julia Triska also defeated her opponent Riley Cook in straight sets at the No. 2 draw, 6-3, 6-4.
Raia Jagger took her first set in a 7-6 (7-4) decision, securing the victory in set two, winning 6-2.
Alexis Kwasnik had a hard-fought victory, defeating Victoria Belisaro after falling behind 4-6 in set one. She won two straight, 6-4, 10-6, to give the Tritons another singles point.
Lili Reichert defeated Carla Schneider in the No. 6 draw 7-6 (9-7), 6-3.
The Tritons host their first conference matchup against Florida Southern College at the Bullard Courts on Friday at 3:00 PM.
