Tritons Drop SSC Matchup to Nova Southeastern

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Nova Southeastern used a first-half scoring flurry as the Eckerd men's soccer team dropped its Sunshine State Conference contest, 4-1, at Johnson Field on Wednesday night. 

NSU got on the board early with two goals inside the first 12 minutes as Marco Gueli and Alessandro Salvadego scored in the 10th and 12th minutes, respectively. The Sharks added another quick pair of goals in the 29th and 31st minutes for a 4-0 lead at the break. 

The Tritons settled in during the second half, keeping the Sharks off the board while pressuring on offense with three shots on frame inside the first 10 minutes. Eckerd finally found the back of the net in the 72nd minute as Tommy Lamb converted off a free kick by Tommy Shepherd. EC added a few close shots in the final minutes but could not make up the difference.
