ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team continued its undefeated start to the season with a pair of victories over Bemidji State (Minn.), 3-0, and Flagler (Fla.), 3-1, Saturday evening on the second day of the Flagler Invitational as the Tritons extend their win streak to eight games.
Eckerd used a 9-1 stretch midway through the opening set before rolling off seven straight points to take it 25-13. Twenty consecutive points behind the serve of Stella Antypa led EC to a 25-8 win in the second set. The teams then swapped points in the finale, with the Tritons taking a 25-21 edge to take the match.
After a back-and-forth start in the opening set against the Saints, a pair of crucial Triton blocks and an Anna Jungjohann kill, gave EC the win, 25-21. Flagler used a 4-0 run to start the second frame as they maintained a slight favor throughout the set before taking it 25-22. The Tritons used an 8-3 run midway through the third set to distance themselves before taking the 25-15 win. Eckerd maintained a slight edge throughout the fourth set, taking the match 25-22.

NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Ashley Eck posted her first career double-double against BSU with 20 digs and 10 assists. She added a career-high 26 digs in the finale.
- Anna Jungjohann paced the offense in the opener with 15 kills. She hit a blistering .737, only committing one error in the match on 19 attempts.
- Jungjohann had another 15 kills in the finale, including nine in just the third set alone.
- Joelle Coulter returned to the starting lineup against BSU, posting 12 kills while hitting at a .391 percent clip.
- Damyah Joyner added nine kills against the Beavers.
- Krysten Garrison ran the offense efficiently with 31 assists in the opener and 48 in the finale.
- Martina Melicherova posted a career-high nine kills versus the Saints.
- Eckerd's eight-match win streak is the longest since 2012.
