DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Eckerd men's soccer team had a late lead over the Eagles, but Embry-Riddle added a goal in the 86th minute to equalize at 2-2 as the teams played to a draw at Embry-Riddle Soccer Stadium Saturday night.
The Eagles didn't waste any time getting on the board as Joe Baxmann scored in the 21st minute. However, Eckerd responded just six minutes later as Tommy Shepherd found the back of the net. The Eagles managed the two shots just before the half, but Eckerd turned them away as the teams entered halftime tied 1-1.
Eckerd registered six shots early in the second half, finally breaking through in the 74th minute as Fredrik Heise found the back of the net on a rebound shot. However, Embry-Riddle equalized 11 minutes later on a rebound attempt by Andy Paterson. EC fired three shots in the final three minutes but was unable to put them on frame ending in a 2-2 draw.
