ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Despite a 1-0 lead at halftime, the Eckerd men's soccer team fell, 2-1, to a pair of second-half goals by Lynn Saturday night at Johnson Field.
Eckerd had just two looks on goal in the opening half but made the most of its first opportunity as Tommy Shepherd found Fredrik Heise at the top of th 18 in the 36th minute. Heise then buried a shot into the top right corner as EC took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Lynn responded in the 52nd minute as Michael Knoetzinger converted on a penalty kick. The Fighting Knights took the lead in the 77th minute as Patrick O'Halloran found the back of the net following a long pass. Shepherd had a look on goal late in the 83rd minute, but Eckerd was unable to convert.
