ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team dropped an SSC contest, 7-0, against No. 8 Saint Leo on senior day Wednesday afternoon at the Bullard Courts.
The Lions (15-1, 6-1 SSC) beat the Tritons (3-11, 0-8 SSC) after earning the doubles point and winning all six singles matches.
The No. 1 duo of Ericka Chavarria and Kylie Misdorp fell 6-2 to begin the day. Theo Schultz and Lili Reichert (6-1) and Alexis Kwasnik and Raia Jagger (6-1) dropped the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, respectively.
Julia Triska took the No. 5 singles draw to a third-set tiebreaker after losing the opening set, 6-1 but bouncing back in the second set, 6-2, before falling in the crucial third set, 10-4. Jagger won three games out of the No. 6 slot but fell, 6-2 and 6-1.
Eckerd is slated for a match at Ave Maria (Fla.) for its final road contest of the season on Thursday at 3:00 PM.
