ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team dropped an SSC contest against Barry on Saturday afternoon at the Turley Athletic Complex, as the Buccaneers tossed a no-hitter in an 8-0, five-inning decision.
Barry struck first with two runs in the opening frame with a two-RBI single. A five-run second inning blew the game open as the Buccaneers took a 7-0 lead with a pair of two-run singles and an RBI single. BU added another run in the third via an RBI double.
The Tritons' best chance to score came in the third stanza, with Hannah Burge drawing a walk, later stealing second, and reaching third when Megan Diaz grounded out, but Eckerd could not push her run across.
