Eckerd Drops Midweek Contest at No. 11 Rollins

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Despite a 4-2 lead over the nationally-ranked Tars, the Eckerd baseball team was unable to fend off No. 11 Rollins' surge in the third through sixth innings as the Tritons fell, 12-5, in a non-conference contest at Alfond Stadium on Tuesday.

RC scored early with a pair of runs in the first inning on an RBI single and a sacrifice fly. EC rallied to take a 4-2 lead in the third via a Michael Ballard two-run homerun and a two-RBI double by Jake Andriole

The Tars evened the score in the bottom of the frame on a pair of RBI singles before taking the lead, 6-4, in the fourth on a two-run triple. Rollins added six insurance runs over the fifth and sixth innings.

Dimerson Nunez added a run for the Tritons with an RBI double in the ninth, but Eckerd was unable to make up the difference.
