Tritons Drop Twinbill at Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Eckerd softball team dropped a doubleheader at Lynn on Saturday afternoon. Lynn took a 1-0 pitcher's duel in the opener as the Fighting Knights tossed a no-hitter. Eckerd nearly came away with a victory in the finale after rallying to take the lead in the seventh, but LU answered with a walk-off win, 6-5.

The Tritons got a runner aboard in each of the first five innings of the opener. However, EC was unable to push a run across. Lynn scored the game's lone run in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly.

EC looked to get on the board in the seventh with runners on the corners but could not plate the tying run.

In the finale, the Knights took a 4-0 lead in the fourth thanks to a three-run third inning before adding a run in the fourth.

EC rallied for two runs in the fifth on a single by Brooklyn Cardona and a run scoring on an error.

The Tritons continued their comeback in the seventh to take a 5-4 lead. Brenna Lokeinsky drove in the first run with a double to left-center before Riley Anthony delivered a two-run single to center field, plating Lokeinsky and Cardona for the lead.

LU rallied in the seventh, loading the bases with two out, where Monique Poitevin delivered a two-run single to take the game.
