Tritons Drop Match Against Dallas Baptist, 5-2

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team lost, 5-2, against the visiting Dallas Baptist Patriots (Texas) on Friday afternoon at the Bullard Courts.

The Patriots (9-3) beat the Tritons (2-8, 0-5 SSC) after earning the doubles point and winning four of six singles matches.

The Tritons fell in the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles draw but won the No. 3 slot when the duo of Theo Schultz and Lili Reichcert beat DBU's Leslie Omerie and Sarah Castleberry 6-3.

Ericka Chavarria and Schultz battled out of the No. 1, and No. 2 singles positions but fell 6-4, 6-2 and 6-4, 6-3. The Tritons dropped singles slots one through four but came back with wins in the No. 5 and No. 6 draw by Julia Triska (6-2, 7-5) and Raia Jagger (6-2, 6-4). Schultz battled, taking seven games in the No. 2 slot but fell, 6-4 and 6-3. 

The Tritons host Millsaps College (Miss.) for Senior Day on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
