LAKELAND, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team fell to Florida Southern, 7-0, at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center Monday afternoon.
The Moccasins (1-1, 1-1 SSC) swept the Tritons (0-3, 0-3 SSC) after earning the doubles point and winning all six singles matchups.
The duo of Alexis Kwasnik and Lili Reichert won two games out of the No. 2 doubles draw before falling 6-2. FSC won both the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matchups 6-1 and 6-1.
In the No. 1 singles slot, Ericka Chavarria took Laura Vetter to a third-set tiebreak. Chavarria won the first set, 6-4, but narrowly lost the second set, 6-4, before falling, 10-3, in the third.
Kylie Misdorp fought from the No. 2 singles position, winning five games but was defeated by Mathilda Vidgren 6-2 and 6-3. Reichert won a combined four games in No. 5 singles but lost, 6-1 and 6-3, to Maxima Ellenberg.
The Tritons continue conference play, welcoming Embry-Riddle to the Bullard Courts on Thursday at 2:00 PM.
