ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's tennis team dropped its second match of the season against No. 4 Nova Southeastern, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the Bullard Courts.
The Sharks (6-0, 3-0 SSC) swept the Tritons (0-2, 0-2 SSC) after earning the doubles point and winning all six singles matchups.
The duo of Theo Schultz and Lili Reichert won two games in the No. 3 draw but ultimately fell 6-2.
In the No. 1 singles slot, Ericka Chavarria battled against NSU's Karolina Snita, narrowly losing the first set 7-5. Chavarria also took two games in the second set before losing 6-2. Schultz also took two games in No. 3 singles but ultimately lost to Celia Montero 6-2 and 6-0.
Julia Triska fought from the No. 5 singles position and won four games but was defeated by Kashmira Manohar in both sets 6-2. Reichert won a combined four games in No. 6 singles but lost, 6-1 and 6-3, to Caitlyn Khan.
The Tritons continue conference play with their first road trip this season at Florida Southern on Monday at 3:00 PM.
